On October 3, 2023, at 3:00 PM, the East Stuart Historical Advisory Committee Meeting convened as usual in the Commission Chambers, which are situated at 121 SW Flagler Ave., Stuart, Florida 34994. Faye James chaired the meeting, which was also attended by board members Albert Brinkley, Betty Brinkley, Joseph Cooper, Kimberly McHardy Grant, and Philip Harvey, as well as vice chair Charlene Thompson. The call to order, the roll call, and the recital of the Pledge of Allegiance signaled the start of the meeting.
Oath of Office:
- The oath of office was given to a new member of the advisory committee, formally welcoming them to the group.
Approval of Agenda:
The committee members unanimously agreed on the proposed agenda for the meeting.
Approval of Minutes:
- The minutes of the July 11, 2023, previous meeting were brought up for approval. The minutes were adopted without any opposition following a roll call vote.

- The committee was updated on the status of the East Stuart Historic Properties Survey Report in a thorough presentation. The neighborhood’s listing as a National Register of Historic Places District was another topic covered in the presentation. The historical significance of the sites inspected and the possible effects of the National Register designation on the community were described in detail.
Staff Update:
Pinal Gandhi-Savdas, the executive director of the CRA, provided an update to the committee on administrative issues and current projects pertaining to historical preservation in East Stuart.
