Call to Order
Christina Vogl, the meeting’s chair, officially opened the Board of Adjustment (BOA) meeting at 5:30 p.m.
Roll Call
Susej T. Meleqi, the board secretary, conducted the roll call and confirmed the attendance of each board member.
Pledge of Allegiance
- Oaths of Office for Advisory Committee Members:
Newly appointed members of the Advisory Committee took the oath of office, pledging to carry out their responsibilities with diligence.
- Appointment of Chair:
After a vote by the Board members, Christina Vogl was unanimously reappointed as the chair for the current meeting.
- Appointment of Vice Chair:
The Vice Chair for the meeting was chosen through a second vote. The vice chair was chosen as Claire Y. Nash.
Approval of Agenda
The meeting’s agenda was made available for approval. The Board decided in favor, and the agenda was accepted as is.
Approval of Minutes
The Board of Adjustment members were given copies of the minutes from the previous meeting, which took place on August 25, 2022, for evaluation. The minutes were carefully considered and adopted without any opposition.

The Board was given the opportunity to hear from the public on topics not on the agenda. Several residents voiced their worries and offered opinions on various issues pertaining to the community. Each speaker stuck to their allotted three minutes.

The Board members discussed non-agenda subjects that were relevant to and interesting to them as well as the community.
Action Item
The Board looked through Anna Trotter’s petition, number Z23060001. In order to increase the amount of on-site parking, the petitioner requested a variance from Section 3.01.03.A.6.A of the City of Stuart Land Development Code in order to install a second driveway curb cut at 301 SE Detroit Avenue. It was observed that the property was located in a Community Redevelopment Area (CRA) and had an Urban Center zoning. The Board deliberated and then voted to approve the final order of variance after carefully reviewing the petition. The motion was approved, and Anna Trotter was given the variance.
Staff Update - Advisory Board Orientation Review by City Clerk
- City Clerk Jodi Nentwick-Kugler’s Review of the Advisory Board Orientation: City Clerk Jodi Nentwick-Kugler gave an update on the Advisory Board orientation, outlining recent developments and the board’s progress in fulfilling its duties.
